The IONIQ has been Hyundai’s popular all-electric model for years, and it ventures into new territory with its release of the 2022 IONIQ 5. This is an all-electric crossover SUV that has an edgy style from bumper to bumper and exciting capabilities. It is based on the IONIQ’s design, but it stands apart as its own model. This five-passenger crossover’s exterior dimensions enable a cabin with comparable space to a midsize crossover. The style is defined by crisp accents that angle strongly through the sides and a flat roof that transitions into a horizontal liftgate spoiler. On the rounded nose, you will find a long, thin grille that connects the sharp headlights. The wheels have an innovative, pinwheel-like design. Inside, the cabin has a stunning, modern style that is defined by long, horizontal lines running across the dashboard and a pair of large display screens rising above the dashboard. The dashboard is separated from the center stack to enhance cabin space in the front row. Interior features include auto climate control, a sliding center console, a Vision sunroof, a surround-view monitor, fast-charging DC stations, and more.
The IONIQ 5 is powered by your choice of two battery packs. The base-level trim has a single electric motor with a rear-wheel drivetrain. The two-motor option is available with all-wheel drive. The single-engine produces 225 horsepower with a 300-mile range. The higher-level generates 320 horsepower and has a 269-mile range. Advanced safety and assistive features include a blind-spot view monitor and remote smart parking assist.
